About Us

This webpage presents the teaching and learning outcomes of art history and museum studies courses, which have combined the components of academic training, experiential education and service-learning. It documents students’ learning journeys, preserving good memories of all the participants in various fieldtrips and projects.

Building on the subject knowledge acquired from lectures, tutorials and academic references, students are encouraged to experience the physicality of artefacts and artworks through visits to museums, galleries, heritage sites, and art fairs. They are also guided to engage with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds in order to address community needs through critical thinking, self-reflection and voluntary services. The integrated course design, dynamic teaching methods and the service-learning curriculum not only enable both instructors and students to actualise the motto of Lingnan University, “Education for Service”, but have also reinforced students’ learning outcomes with unique experiences and professional training offered beyond the traditional classroom.

We hope that the documentation shown in this webpage will provide new insights into the cultivation of an appreciation for the arts and museums in our community.
